Encoders

All optical encoders and rotary encoders feature a reinforced aluminum diecast casing, have an operating temperature range of -10 to +70 degrees C (except for the NA series, whose operating range is -10 to +60 degrees C), and come equipped with a two meter cable exit. Flexible couplings in aluminum and glass reinforced resin and mounting brackets will also be available.

To offer you access to the widest array of Koyo absolute encoder models, in addition to our in-stock rotary optical encoders ready for delivery, we also offer many models designated as "non-stock", meaning their normal delivery is 6-8 weeks for quantities less than 100; larger quantities will require more time.

Light Duty - (TRD-S Series) Standard Shaft
Light-duty rotary incremental encoders are cost-effective for small applications and have the following features.

Small body with 38mm diameter and 30mm depth
In-stock models include 100, 360, 500, 1000, or 2500 pulses per revolution (ppr)
Non-stock models include open collector or line driver outputs in 200, 250, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1200, and 2000 pulses per revolution (ppr)
6mm standard shaft
200 KHz maximum response frequency
Available in 5 V line driver or 12-24 VDC models
IP40 Rating (dust proof)

Hollow shaft models have a built-in coupling for accurate alignment and long bearing life.

Medium-duty rotary incremental encoders are the most popular encoders we offer. The product line has the greatest flexibility of choice while maintaining very high quality, all for a very low price.

In-stock models include 60, 100, 360, 500, 1000, or 2500 pulses per revolution (ppr)
Non-stock models include totem pole or line driver outputs in 3, 4, 5, 10, 30, 40, 50, 120, 200, 240, 250, 300, 400, 480, 600, 720, 1200, and 2000 pulses per revolution (ppr)

Medium Duty absolute encoders - (TRD-NA Series)
An absolute encoder uses gray code to describe each position, so position data is not lost when power is cycled. When power is cycled using an incremental encoder, any positioning information is lost until “home” position is triggered.

Stock and non-stock models range from 5 bit to 10 bit Gray code outputs
